Prepaid credit card

Much like a gift card, prepaid credit cards are issued by financial institutions, whereby the purchaser (holder) loads the card with a specific dollar amount. The amount of available credit is limited to the dollar amount the holder transferred to the financial institution. Unlike gift cards, which are typically disposed of once depleted, prepaid credit cards are intended to be reused, and can be an important tool for those working to repair their credit and financial situation.
