Strong-dollar monetary policy
Monetary policy designed to maintain or increase the value of the US dollar relative to foreign currencies. The central bank would typically raise interest rates (federal funds and discount rate), reduce money supply growth, increase member bank reserve requirements, decrease the interest paid on excess reserves, hike margin loan interest, etc., all of which is designed to increase the value of the dollar.
